Auspicious Buys For The Dragon Year
Happy New Year Everyone! Thinking Dragon already? If you are here are some rip roaring items that you can pick up for a prosperous start to the year ahead.
Instead of Bak Kwa (Preserved Meat), Cookies and Oranges for the boss when you visit his home this year, you might consider this one especially if he is a Tumi fan. From 10 January, Tumi is selling a limited edition luggage tag for HK$280 complete with a gold foil intricate laser cut five-clawed dragon insignia on a red luggage tag. Come on now, how much more auspicious can you get with that!
Then at Shanghai Tang ring in the new year with their latest Nespresso Year Of The Dragon collection which includes a Coffee Machine and even matching crockery all with a dragon boldly engraved into it. This chinois chic coffee maker is a collaboration with Shanghai Tang, synonymous with lux chinois design. The highlight is the Shanghai Tang for Nespresso CitiZ Dragon Coffee Machine, the Cappuccino Dragon Cup Set and for a blast of ‘wow’ when you’re serving up your after-dins cuppa, the Dragon Capsule Holder with Carved Stone Inlay. Look closely and you’ll find the Chinese word for longevity subtly worked into the overall design.
Timed for Chinese New Year, only 3000 sets are available in select countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Dubai and New Zealand, and will be in the shops on 1 January onwards.
Wear the dragon on your wrist. At Emporio Armani the Year Of The Dragon Watch is a sleek, limited edition timepiece that is symbolic of success and prosperity. The watch features an iconic Emporio Armani case with a striking silver dragon design atop a black sunray dial with silver-applied indexes. There are 2012 time pieces with the case backs are adorned with a “Year of the Dragon 2012” impression along with the individual case number.
Join the ranks of Bill Gates, Jet Li, JLo and Bae Yong Jun (remember the pale permed haired Auntie-Killer in Winter Sonata?), they are all fans of crystal art brand Tittot. Started by Henrich Wang in 1994, the brand has gained recognition for exquisite workmanship and this is his Accumulation . Exertion collection. See: http://www.tittot.com
Also for your wrist is this great collection of Dragon watches that Fossil has launched, box included.
Finally, if its something that you need to gift for the Lunar New Year as you visit various relatives and friends, this Dragon Trinket Box from Guardian might be a good one to consider. An elegant trinket box with elaborate dragon motifs, this can be used to house jewelry or display your goodies. Contents in picture not included, the box is available at only S$6.88 with a minimum S$38 purchase at any Guardian store OR free with a S$120 purchase, whilst stocks last.
