Bling On The Singapore JewelFest!

The F1 may have been the high point of flash for the guys, but it’s the Singapore JewelFest 2011 (SJF2011) that blings out the glitter for me – and lots more girls, no doubt! How to resist anything that shimmers and glitters? The annual bling fest is back again from 14 – 23 October, at its usual spot under a luscious pavilion in front of Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. Sadly this year, I will not be in town to lap it all up, as I will be away in London and parts of northern UK for the next two weeks. Nice, but that also means I will be missing this jewel feast which I eagerly await every year for! (I have been buying pieces from this fair each year and they are, to date, my favourite accesories! Nice quirky stuff!) So while I am pottering around Lake District helping my daughter look for Peter Rabbit, I will be thinking of you ladies sipping champers and browsing the bling!

Each year, the Singapore Jewelfest presents the cream with theme. This time, its ’Big City Stories’, celebrating women’s desire for glamour, success and the urban dream. In other words, the Simply Fabulicious life! Yes, some of it may be hyped up fantasy, but it fuels us enough to keep to the daily grind of school runs, office work and weekend marketing, not to mention midweek cooking. So much for glamour, but we can still drape on some haute joaillerie even when we are caught up in our mundane pursuits, and have something to wear when we go out for dinner parties.

So what’s in store this time? The Jewelfest faithfuls will be there – Hans D. Krieger Fine Jewellery from Germany; Mouawad (always gorgeous pieces), Sara Taseer Fine Jewellery from USA; Zydo from Italy (always with lovely, whimsical pieces!), and European couture designers likes Stenzhorn from Germany; Annamaria Cammilli, Giloro, Marco Bicego, Mario Buzzanca Gioielli, Nanis and Ninetto Terzano from Italy with cutting edge designs. Look out for Asian brands Baerjewels, Dilys’ and Karen Collection, Czarl, Simone Jewels, The Jewel Box, and Voi Jewellery (great banging cocktail rings) which are offering “showstopping creations”. Dramatic pieces, daily wear and classics are there under one roof – don’t drink too much champers if you are planning to stay within buget!

Here’s our little preview. You MUST round up the girls and go! Goodness knows we deny ourselves sugar enough, so why not make up with this lovely hard candy? Meanwhile, I want this one, and that one….and that one with the rubies…..
