Satisfy your yen to explore — minus the hassle of packing, trawling through tedious customs checks and possibly encountering H1NI — by checking out Early Travels and Voyages in Southeast Asia, an ongoing exhibition of books on travel and exploration in Southeast Asia, from the Rare Book Collection of the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library.
Time travel vicariously through stories of long-ago voyages, when travel involved great risks, adventure and gains. Accounts of journeys to the region unfold, as narrated by the early European and other voyagers or transcribed from their journals, culminating in the founding of modern Singapore.
