Catch Fifteen London at Equinox…Quick!
Look up! It’s not a bird, it’s not a plane, it’s…Chefs With Altitude. Zooming by at the speed of light, this foodie fest in the dizzy heights of Swissotel Stamford Singapore’s Equinox Complex, zips by within a week, and as it is, there’s only a few days left before it ends on Sunday, 30 October. There’s still time to catch it, but you’ve got to trot fast in your Jimmy Choo’s…or Charles & Keith’s.
As Madam nurses a hideous flu after returning from London, whaddaya know but Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen London is in town too to whip up a storm at the Equinox. No, the Naked Chef is not here, but this restaurant’s three chefs Head Pastry Chef Dean McClumpha, Executive Head Chef Andrew Parkinson (top), Senior Sous Chef Trevor Howard and Restaurant Manager Robin Soutar will present their signature Fifteen menu and experience for guests at Equinox Restaurant.
From now until Saturday, 29 October, catch them for lunch in a semi-buffet situation. At only $68++ (which beats forking out moolah to catch a flight to London), there’s the appetizer and dessert spread and a choice of mains which could include potato gnocchi with braised octopus and squid with capers, olives, chilli and tomatoes; slow roasted shoulder of lamb with chickpeas inzimino, Swiss chard and salsa verde, or venison polpette with braised in tomato and dry porcini mushrooms. The dessert spread includes the Fifteen’s signature carrot cake. Dinner, which seems to have a wider selection, is on an a la carte arrangement, or set menu at $170++. Here’s a sampling of the menu: scallop crudo – yuzu lime cured scallops with pomegranate, crisp ginger, coconut, micro cress and Fontodi olive oil; buffalo mozzarella with Italian figs, Prosciutto di San Danielle, pine kernels; roasted breast of duck with peppers ‘agro dolce’, purple sprouting broccoli; Fifteen’s classic Sicilian fisherman’s stew, Barolo poached fillet steak with wet polenta and desserts like Amedei chocolate tart with clotted cream ice-cream and crispy pancetta, and basil pannacotta with balsamic strawberries and biscotti, and sticky date pudding with toffee sauce and mascarpone!
Fifteen London also takes the helm for Equinox’s cheerfully indulgent Pink Brunch this Sunday, so if you ladies are due for a celebratory get together, I highly recommend this! For $168++, you can tuck into blush bliss with great food, live music and free-flow of Moët Rosé Imperial!
Other highlights of the weeklong Chefs with Altitude include food by Three Michelin star Chef Bruno Menard at JAAN. He’ll be serving up really posh meals at JAAN until 29 October. Savour dishes like Scallop and avocado with Aquitaine caviar; Roscoff onion soup, parsley custard and white truffle foam; Langoustine, white truffle, almond puree, praliné, roasted Macadamia flakes for lunch and dinner at $175++ and $388++ respectively.
Time’s running out. Don’t email, but call +65 6837 3322 for reservations.
