Check Out HK’s Woof Guide!
With a name like the THEWOOFGUIDE.ORG (www.thewoofguide.org) and these cute pictures, it was hard not to take a second look at this newly launched Club in Hong Kong for dog lovers. The site launched on 12 January in Hong Kong and is a great reference guide if you have a furry friend in your home. It collates the information that dog, cat and animal lovers in Hong Kong need to know about city living, caring for and even entertaining their pets and has been launched in partnership with Hong Kong’s SPCA. So whether you have to take dawg to the emergency vet or pamper him at the doggy spa or even take him out to lunch, this is the guide for you.
There is even a funny story behind the creation of the site which was allegedly dreamt up by Padstow, a pug-cross rescue dog who wrote The Woof Guide to Hong Kong with help from his human companions, Caroline and Ali Bullock. The Bullocks are also the creators of Animals in Photos Ltd, an organisation that provides volunteer driven photography, social media, and project management services to animal welfare organisations. Amongst many projects, the Bullocks helped shoot and produce the popular HKDR Tribute Books 1 and 2, and conceived and delivered the “Hong Kong Originals” ad campaign for the SPCA. Ali has photographed a number of rescues with Animals Asia in China. The team has also captured the beauty of orangutans in Borneo, moon bears in Vietnam and elephants in Thailand as a pro-bono project to help animal welfare causes.
