Drink Tonight To Help Kids In Cambodia
Just TONIGHT ONLY, 12 May, Solas Bar in Hong Kong is holding an event in support of the charity, Honour Village Cambodia. The charity helps provide a safe home for vulnerable children in Cambodia who are in urgent need due to the lack of a stable family environment. A number of well known Hong Kongers have pitched in for this worthy cause adn will turn mixologist from 7pm – 10pm just for tonight, and all proceeds – the full 100% – from drink sales will go to the charity.
Honour Village Cambodia (www.honourvillagecambodia.org) is run entirely by local staff with the support of expert volunteers in Hong Kong, America and the UK. Their primary objective is to ensure that Cambodian children who are vulnerable due to poverty, domestic abuse or the death of one or both parents have a stable, safe and loving environment in which to live and grow. It was founded Sue Wiggans, a retired primary school teacher who sold her house and all her possessions to found this charity and now lives on site as mentor and guide. It costs just US$50,000 to run the entire project for a year, which works out to about US$88 per month for each of the 45 children that currently live at Honour Village.
