Flying Pink On 1 October!
Q: What will the Singapore Flyer, White House, Statue of Christ the Redeemer and the Empire State Building have in common on 1 October 2011?
A: They will all be turning Pink at different times across the globe on that day.
Before we tell you why, suffice to say that you have been also warned of the impending traffic hazard and can guess which roads to avoid as would-be shutter bugs and unabashed road hoggers (you know who you are) gaze up at the Singapore Flyer as it blushes pink against the Singapore evening skyline.
SimplyFab were invited to come watch the ‘Flyer Illumination’ event, a special effort organised by Estee Lauder which will see our 165 metre tall flyer glow pink from 8.15 to 10.45pm to create national awareness for Breast Cancer. Throwing the switch and doing the honours is Singapore’s new first lady, Mrs Mary Tan.
The Estee Lauder Group leads the drive advocating breast health and early detection during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. Last year the Company set the Guinness World Record for “Most Landmarks Illuminated for a cause in 24 hours” which also included the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Harrods in London.
