Hong Kong’s First Restaurant Week
First it was Singapore, now it’s bursting forth deliciously all over Hong Kong. DiningCity Restaurant Week makes its debut in jolly HKG between 11 and 17 July. Important info first – online reservations start 10 am on 22 June. And if Singapore’s experience is anything to go, seats for the best restaurants get snapped up within hours, so be prepared to act fast!
Here’s how it works. During this period, DiningCity Restaurant Week is offering great-value-for-money 3-course menus across town at HK$158 for lunch and HK$298 for dinner. (Michelin starred restaurants add another HK$100 per star they flaunt so dinner at a one star restaurant is HK$398 instead.) This means you get a chance to dine at these swanky restaurants at a deal much cheaper than usual. Because American Express is a sponsor, card members enjoy priority booking now until June 21.
Currently, restaurants on the list include FINDS, 208 Duecento Otto, Azure, Cecconi’s, Chez Patrick, Hoi King Heen, Kyoto Joe, The Press Room, Sakesan, The Boathouse, The Press Room, Yat Tung Heen Chinese Restaurant (Wanchai), and more.
“In other Restaurant Week cities, people literally set their alarms to be sure of snagging a spot at their top choices – with many making five or six reservations in one go,” says Onno Schreurs, Managing Director for China and Hong Kong of Diningcity.com. So take heed: bookmark www.restaurantweek.hk and get ready to click for your tix!
And in case you are wondering, DiningCity.com is an online restaurant reservation service which does its business in 35 cities. Visitors to the website can search for restaurants, read and write reviews and make online reservations. Restaurants manage their profile, uploading new information, and promotions too.
