iLoveFit’s Funky Fitness Sessions

There are so many really funky fitness programmes out there for us girls these days, but the problem is, you can’t try them out without committing yourself to paid lessons first. Well, on 24 to 25 March , the last weekend of the month, you can try out a whole range of exercise programmes in one fell swoop at the first ever iLoveFit! Event, held at the atrium of City Square Mall (180 Kitchener Road). Organised by NTUC Club and Amore Fitness, this two day event comprises a series of one-hour exercise sessions throughout the day,  from kickboxing to FunkBlitz, low impact aerobics, CardioLatino, BellyBlitz, etc. If you’re already fit and focused, there’s also a two hour endurance challenge made up of two high intensity segments of CardioBlitz® and kickboxing consecutively.

This is in conjunction with International Women’s Day, and the activities are clearly targeted at us girls. So get some friends and sign up. Early bird registration is now open until 29 Feb, where non-members pay $15 to $20 depending on what you are signing up for. After that , tics go up by $5 each. You also get a goodie bag worth up to $50.

Just so you know what you are signing up for, here’s some information about the different kinds of sessions – and they all sound like a load of fun to me!

Kickboxing: A high-intensity workout that draws inspiration from martial arts. Kicks and punches are incorporated to integrate both the upper and lower body in a total workout. Improves muscle strength, tone coordination and reflexes.

BellyBlitz: It’s an all rounded workout that targets all parts of the body, combining traditional belly dancing moves with aerobic techniques. Tones your upper body including arms and hips.

FunkBlitz incorporates hip hop, street and funk dance into aerobics. Its fast and calorie burning, elevates your heart rate, and  stretches your stamina while you rock to funk music.

CardioLatino gets you burning off calories with aerobic moves infused with Samba, Rumba, Cha Cha, Paso Doble and Jive elements.

Aero Lo (Low impact aerobics) emphasizes on continuous rhythmic activity, with low impact moves that enable calorie burning and muscle conditioning, contributing to overall aerobic fitness.

StretchFit fuses stretching exercises and regular breathing techniques to develop a flexible and strong body. (Sounds like yoga to me.)
