Jaisalmer Desert Run For Hot Babes

Many of our readers are into endurance sports, we know. So this should be interesting to all you strong, toned babes out there looking for another destination to conquer in your running shoes.

What we are talking about is the Jet Airways Jaisalmer Desert Fort Fun Run that takes place on 1 April 2012. It takes place in Jaisalmer, called “The Golden City” because of the distinctive yellow sandstone used in its architecture. Located in the heart of the Thar Desert, the very doable 15km route that starts in Jaisalmer’s Poonam Stadium, passing the Indira Gandhi Stadium before stopping at the half-run point at the historic Shiva Jain Temple. The route continues onto the Amar Sagar Village on the edge of Amar Sagar Lake adjacent to the 17th century Amar Singh Palace, skirts along the Camel Trail and ends back at the Poonam Stadium. The whole point of this run, of course is to show off the lovely sights of this part of India. The top ten runners to complete the Full Run will receive a pair of round-trip Economy class tickets to any Jet Airways destination. Terms & conditions apply.

Beyond the run itself, there’s other attractions in the vicinity, like the legendary Jaisalmer Fort with its 800-plus year history, Badal Vilas or Mandir Palace, the current residence of the royal family built in the 19th century, etc.

Complementing this event, Jet Airways is offering a 8D/7N Jaisalmer Desert Fort Fun Run package for residents of Singapore and Hong Kong. From Singapore, the Jaisalmer Desert Fort Fun Run package starts at S$1699 per person based on twin sharing accommodation and includes air fare, accommodation, three meals, sight-seeing, pre-race briefing/race kit and a camel ride. From Hong Kong, the same package starts at HK$8600 per person. Both packages offer a choice of departures on 28 or 29 March and returning on 4 or 5 April.

This is part of the Jet Airways 2012 Fun Run Series. More runs are planned for different parts of India, themed according to the geographic and historic nature of the location. The next one to look out for is the Darjeeling Heritage Fun Run. Dates and details to be announced.
