Kanebo Revival!
Kanebo - I truly have not heard this name mentioned in a very long time so when I came across a press release on some of the recently launched products, I was intrigued.
Once the rage in the 80s, this brand has earned Aunty trophies with women over 60 in the East just as Estee Lauder and Max Factor have with women counterparts in the West. Was it now reinventing itself the way the fashion brands have today with today’s gal? I opened the press releases to take a peek at what the brand has to offer modern women today.
Alot it seems with the launch of 3 new product ranges in the recent months. First up, a product called White Luster which hails from their Blanche Superior skin care range that combats dark spots and protects the skin against UV rays. Bringing to the market a new formulation and a new ingredient1, White Birch extract – this moisturising serum promises to hydrate, remove keratin and melanin and normalise the skin’s natural turnover. The product is mildly scented with a moist and smooth texture when applied.
Then there is a line of three products called the Impress IC White Renewal Line, that promises a luminous complexion and whitening all rolled into one bottle. The products are White Lotion, White Returnergy and White Emulsion. Don’t you love that new word that the brand just made up – ‘return-the-energy’ (??). The idea is that the regime when used in unison gives you translucent and even-toned skin. The trio have a light and pleasant fragrance extracted from Bulgarian white roses.
Finally their makeup palette for Autumn is all about the return of ‘beige’ and is based on a shade of beige inspired by the skin itself. The collection called Lunasol is pretty complete and makes full use of the effect of light and shadow on the contours of the face – presenting glows and subtle nuances for the most coveted looks of the season through different beautiful shades of beige.
Highlight items within the collection include the Lunasol Three-dimensional Eye shadows of which there are 5 types to choose from (Natural Beige, Soft Beige, Mysterious Beige, Cool Beige, Deep Beige), Base Makeup, Mascara and Mascara Treatment base, a Makeup Remover for Eyes and Lips, an Eye Lash Curler , Lipstick, Cheek Colour and Conditioning Mask.
