Must-Go Macau This May!

Get on that ferry to Macau in May and check out two mega events! From 15 May, pop by newly opened mega integrated resort, the long-awaited Galaxy Macau and from May 27 to 29, head to the Venetian Carnival at The Venetian which will host a series of fantastic street parties and special events.

The newly opened 550,000 square metre Galaxy Macau opens in Cotai on 15 May with accommodation coming from three iconic Asian hospitality brands which will band together as part of the resort offering 250 suites and 10 floating villas from the Banyan Tree Macau, 500 rooms by  Hotel Okura, Macau and the 1500 room Galaxy Hotel.

Besides an international shopping strip for shoppers, the Banyan Tree also opens the first Banyan Tree Spa at 2800 sq m  including 21 treatment rooms and a private spa for hotel guests. The Grand Resort Deck will feature a 350 ton white sand beach and a 4000 sq m Skytop Wave Pool which is the largest of its kind and can generate waves up to 1.5m high. There are several tropical pools and Japanese gardens where you can find your zen, a Japanese tea pavillion and private cabanas. For foodies, there are 50 over international dining outlets, easy rivaling the choices at the neighbouring Venetian. In terms of Clubs, there is the ultra-exclusive China Rouge, a private membership Club with a performance theatre, bar and restaurant that reflects 1930s Shanghai and opening later in the year, a 9 screen, 3D multi-function cinema. At The Venetian, check in for a 3 day Carnival Party where there is only dancing, eating and socialising on its agenda. This event has its roots in the world’s first carnival in 14th century Venice and involves all The Venetian’s culinary and entertainment maestros in what promises to the be grandest affair in Asia.

Beija-Flor, the top rated Samba school in Rio de Janeiro will jet into Macau for a Brazilian Samba Party with international DJs on Friday 27 May at 6pm at The Venetian Lagoon.  Followed by a Venetian Copacabana Charity Ball on Saturday 28 May with Caribbean favourite foods like coco crab cakes, mango salsa, pina coladas, tortilla wraps and a big serving of fabulous music. On Sunday 29 May, there will be parades and parties throughout.
