Must See iPhone Photo Exhibition
So I read a rumour online today that the new iPhone 5 looks set to come equipped with an 8 megapixel camera. If you are hanging on to your trusty iPhone 4 or have just invested in a white one then don’t be fret because the 5 megapixels that you have can still inspire.
Unconvinced? Just get yourself to Hong Kong’s Culture Club at 15 Elgin Street in lower SoHo from 19 September to 15 October and see ‘Kinky Vicious’ by Liam Fitzpatrick featuring a series of image exhibitions all captured and edited entirely on the iPhone.
Lavishly panoramic, the pictures were actually taken on an iPhone 3GS camera and they combine whirls of light and arresting perspectives that offer images of his native city with its topographical elements and off or on water, stripped of crowds. His inspiration comes from the 19th century Queen’s Road photographers whose early cameras could not capture the speed of human movement and instead produced an eerie image of deserted streets and empty warehouses.
Born in Hong Kong, but educated in Christ Church, Oxford, Liam Fitzpatrick is a graduate with a first in Modern History. He is married with two daughters and lives in the New Territories.
