Something For The Kids

I crack my head buying stuff for kids even though I have a 6 year old of my own which should qualify me as an informed shopper but I have come to the illogical conclusion that there is nothing logical when it comes to buying stuff for kids. So we trawled our press releases and found some pretty fun gifts that you could pick up this Christmas that will at least put a smile on their mum and dad’s faces because at least the gifts are useful – come on lets face it – which kid plays with a toy for more than 20 minutes at any one stretch .. the thrill is in unwrapping the gift … and thats the only thing for sure!

For a kid that needs a boost and better posture whilst you are at it, try a Booster Bug, a revolutionary air-filled cushion that you can use at home by the dinner table or bring along to a restaurant if you can be bothered to lug it around. Apparently this bug has more than one function – every movement a child makes whilst sitting on it works their core muscles encouraging them to sit up straight and concentrate for longer periods of time. Launched in Hong Kong by Icelandic mother-of-four, Heida Magnusdottir, and British design engineer Stewart Belcher, Booster Bugs are available in an assortment of festive colours, including red, pink and green, and fun textures. Available for HK$450 from Bumps and Babes on see online at www.thebugscompany.com

For babies, try Sleep Naked, a luxury bedding brand that has launched a children’s range of snowy white bath linens and beautiful, fluffy bathrobes made out of 100% Egyptian cotton towels and sheets and wraps (HK$190) for babies and toddlers that are diamond-shaped with a hood in one corner, and are worn like a cape. For the bigger kids there are the luxury kids robes at (HK$312 and up) Available in 3 sizes: 2-5 years, 6-9 years and 10+ years. See: www.thebestbedlinenintheworld.com
