Sun, Surf and Sea in China?

Hainan’s Sanya in China is Asia’s latest and upcoming beach resort area and holiday makers in the know are beginning to flock there as the next place to go for sun, sand and sea. Plenty of resorts are opening up there, and one of the latest is the Renaissance Sanya Resort & Spa. Never knew that China had such a pretty beach huh? Neither did I!

We are told the resort  is “styled after a modern tropical palace resembling a contemporary reinterpretation of Beijing’s Forbidden City” and boasts the largest Presidential Suite in China. A perfect place to sip your Grand Cru white wine mixed with 7-Up!

The Renaissance Sanya is set beside a private white-sand beach on Haitang Bay surrounded by rainforest and thermal mineral springs. It sports over 500 rooms, Quan Spa, three large interconnected swimming pools, a private cinema, and a bowling alley amongst other facilities. For eats, there’s seven restaurants – Chinese food at Star Anise, Red Star Café specialising in different Chinese cuisines, the beachfront Star Fish Market & Bar and a 1950s themed espresso bar Candy Box.

If you’re planning a getaway anytime over the next two months, they are offering an introductory package – and you know that introductory offers on new hotels are often good deals. Until end September, you get three nights for the price of two here, from RMB1,450 (S$270) a night.

For couples, a ‘Romantic Paradise Discovery’ package get you into a corner studio suite with breakfast , bottle of  wine, deluxe seafood platter worth RMB450 and a RMB400 QUAN Spa voucher  from RMB1,840 ($345) a night for a minimum of two nights. For families, rates start from RMB1,725 (S$322) a night for two adults and up to two children in a Deluxe Ocean View Room, including  breakfast and RMB500 Food & Beverage voucher with airport transfers.

The resort is 40-minutes from Sanya Phoenix International Airport.
