Private Time With The Pope
So…what’s on the holiday itinerary? Hmm – see the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon…oh, and don’t forget to pen in morning tea with the Pope!
Leading Hotels of the World recently offered members of its exclusive ‘Leaders Club’ this stupendously luxurious, once in a lifetime package to Rome! For EUR 7,950++ per couple, the packaged offered a two night stay at Hassler Roma’s Presidential Suite, daily buffet breakfast, Italian aperitivo and delicacies served on your private terrace, a special tasting dinner menu for two by Chef Francesco Apreda at the Hassler’s Michelin starred restaurant Imàgo, a romantic sunset picnic at the Circus Maximus overlooking the Palatine Hill offering one of the most evocative views of Rome, an en suite massage for two by the hotel’s Amorvero SPA and a two-hour carriage ride through the city, followed by a luxury picnic basket with Champagne and canapés from Imàgo. As if that’s not enough, these super luxe holiday makers top their Italian vacation with no less than a “private audience with Pope Benedict XVI (only on Wednesday mornings)… in a venue not open to the public” and private tour of the tomb of St. Peter tossed in for good measure.
