Tawandang Birthday Send Off For Nitcharee
Do you remember 14 year old Nitcharee, the Thai girl who fell off the MRT tracklines in Singapore recently, losing both her legs? The Sunday Times in Singapore ran a story on her last week about her longing to go home to Thailand to eat her favourite Thai food, see her family and friends and celebrate her 15th birthday.

Simply Fab reader, Jacqueline Lim who also handles the public relations for Tawandang Thai Mircobewery and Restaurant read her story and felt extremely touched by her plight. That very day, she made a quick call to the Director of Tawandang, Kartchai to see if the restaurant could treat her to some Thai food before she left from home.
Kartchai received Jacqueline’s call as he was enroute to the airport as he was leaving to Bangkok for a meeting. Hearing the story, he was so touched by it that he not only cancelled his flight but personally arranged for a farewell cum birthday party at the restaurant’s Suntec City outlet to celebrate her 15th birthday together with the volunteers from the Singapore Rotatary Club who had been helping her with her rehabilitation in Singapore after her early April accident. Together, 18 people got together for the very last minute celebrations which turned out to be a really special and meaningful experience not just for Nitcharee but for everyone at the party as the staff and other diners who happened to be in the restaurant also joined in the fun!
