Valentine’s Day Canoodling At Doppio Zero
Ok, we have loads of VD stuff in our files and just so we get it out to you, Elaine and I will just be zapping out the posts as we see them, so log in often and see what else we have for you. First up that caught my eye, a new Italian restaurant in Hong Kong’s Sheung Wan, Doppio Zero, which specialises in authentic Italian pasta dishes (get the headline now? Ca-noodling?). Helmed by Executive Chef and co-owner Jake Addeo and recently listed in the Michelin guide, this cool venue is serving up a four course Valentine’s Day menu at HK$999 per couple with complimentary prosecco. Expect dishes like duck egg ravioli with pear and ricotta filling, chocolate braised beef cheek ragu with black winter truffle, and a playful nutella bread pudding with cherries and cinnamon gelato. If you like your dinner vinous, there’s a wine pairing option which comes at a price of HK$1200 inclusive of dinner and three wines.
More about the restaurant, it was opened just a few months ago and has already gotten the foodies buzzing as THE place to go for pasta. The trattoria style restaurant boasts signatures like Tagliatelle Bolognese and Beetroot & Gorgonzola Ravioli, Spaghettini with Razor Clams, Milk Braised Suckling Pig and a Hong Kong inspired dessert Ying Yang Affogato, consisting of milk tea gelato soaked in a shot of espresso and topped with a crunchy peanut butter cookie.
