Vero Chocolatey Mooncakes

How’s this for a change? Instead of traditional ‘leen yong’ in Hong Kong, VERO has given a chocolatey spin on mooncakes this year. The premium chocolatier, whose confections are ranked one of the top five must-buy’s in Hong Kong, is filling mooncakes with exotic combinations sans lotus paste. Their mooncakes are all made with a dark chocolate shell, within which are filled with Balsamic Raspberry comprising white chocolate cream and balsamic-raspberry puree; Pink Himalayan Caramel with salted caramel filling; mango kaffir lime which comprises mango puree and white chocolate cream ganache accented with natural kaffir lime and Whisky, with whisky-infused chocolate ganache filling.

They’ve put together some swanky gift boxes as well with a modern edge. A four-piece gift box (HK$288) includes four large mooncakes: one Balsamic Raspberry, one Crunchy Hazelnut, one Whisky and one Mango Kaffri Lime; while the 7+1 piece gift box (HK$388) has one large Whisky mooncake and seven mini-mooncakes.
