Window Shopping at Quintessential
Before you know it, Christmas is visible just round the corner. Before it hits you like a sack of potatoes, it may be prudent to start thinking of what you’re going to do by way of gifts. I am anyway, ‘cos I hate the last minute rush – and we all know that good buys never pop up when you’re in a hurry.
So we thought we’d highlight one of our favourite shops in Singapore, Quintessential – a one-stop affair for gifts for your best girlfriends at Pacific Plaza. It’s an Aladdin’s cave of all things quirky and fun, and just right for the daring urban girl.
Some time ago, we highlighted the gorgeous Caslee reptilian bags they launched. Still love them, bought a third piece (above) when I popped in there for this story, and discovered an exclusive design called the Quintsy Bag (below in Black Gold) which Caslee created just for Quintessential. What I love about these bags is that they can customise it for you – if you don’t see a piece that you perfectly love on their shelves, you can pick the model and choose your skin. They’ll get it done for you in a few weeks. Lovely! (By the way, the brand uses snake skin from farmed sources and also offer ostrich skin, but no customisation for the latter.)

Nicole Whisenhunt’s attention-grabbing bib necklaces made of semi-precious stones, coin pearls, freshwater pearls and crystals, all hand-sewn and embroidered into luxe velvet and satin fabrics. These conversation pieces each take about 100 hours to make.

And lots of other bits and bobs for treats for self or friends like these huge cocktail rings that boldly go where no woman has gone! Pop in whenever you’re in the vicinity – the ladies there bring in all sorts of new stock every few weeks so you’re bound to discover new surprises.
